(Las Vegas, NV)
Had some sleep, although not the solid, refreshing sleep I would have wanted. Still, we got up and went to breakfast at 8.30 ish, ready for taking on what is generally referred to as ‘civilisation’. There was a pancake machine at breakfast, so it would have been rude not to have used it, wouldn’t it?

We left about 11 am, with the sun out but a strong breeze which made it feel like a pretty good summer’s day at home, and headed to Best Buy, just around the corner. This is an electronics store and we browsed the absolutely huge sound systems (one speaker alone wouldn’t fit in a case, and I’ve no idea what size room you’d need to fit it in), e-bikes with the chunkiest tires (and I’m sure they must weigh a lot if you drop it), glow-in-the-dark gaming computers and random other items. We then went to Columbia (yes, again…), before heading to the District in Henderson for lunch at Rachel’s Kitchen.

By now the skies had clouded over, and the breeze felt cold. Luckily there were tables available inside. The robot was still serving some meals, although ours arrived under human power.

The Christmas decorations were being put up. Christmas feels like a long way away right now, but I’m guessing that we’ll soon be into the middle of things when we get home.

We spent the afternoon relaxing, watching the light change on the mountains, having a snack and then doing final packing for the flight home. We left at about 6.10pm and drove the 7 ish miles to return the car. Scores on the doors this trip were 1,747 miles, in 35 hours and 17 minutes, averaging a whopping 20.4 mpg. We caught next shuttle to the terminal and were there by 7pm.

We’d already done check in online, so we just had to drop the cases at the counter, before proceeding through security, where there wasn’t much of a queue, you didn’t have to remove anything from your bag, and you didn’t have to take your shoes off. We were done by 7.15pm.
We then ambled to the lounge, had another snack and waited to board our plane at 8.25pm.
…
While we travel back, I thought I’d give you a selection of panoramic views from our trip to enjoy.
